Fantastic breakaway! We have loved every minute, the cottage has been perfect. Comfy, views stunning, log fire amazing. Our 3 little ones have loved exploring and watching all the birds. A few flat walks to and around the lake, and a meal in the Crown which was fab! Glad we found this, thank you so much, we will be back!

Our second stay in this faultless cottage. Great views and only a short walk from the pubs in the village. Black Bull definitely our favourite.

A very enjoyable week and one of the best cottages we've ever stayed in. Didn't manage any of the highest heights, but did walk direct from the cottage up the Coppermines to Levers Water, along the railway track to Torver and over to Tarn Hows. Ate at the Wilson Arms in Torver - very good but must book, and Indian Takeaway was also very good

Lovely spacious and clean cottage - Mandy helpful in trying to sort the BBC channels. Recommend the fish and chips at Yewdale Inn, and also recommend the Ruskin Museum. Lovely walk along the railway track to Torver and the lake shore. Perfect weather and will come back.

A very enjoyable week in one of the very best cottages we've stayed in. Didn't manage any of the highest heights, but did walk direct from the cottage up Coppermines to Levens Water, along the railway track to Torver and over to Tarn Hows. Ate at Wilson's Arms in Torver. Very good but must book. The indian takeaway was also very good. Worth knowing that if you go out in the evening and are worried about using the parking space, its free in the car park down the road to 9am. Good weather up to the last day. Hope to be back next year :)

Absolutely beautiful place! Stunning views and such a well kept place. Beautiful outside dining area just out the front of the cottage. Perfect location, 3 mins walk to the pub and on the path to old man Coniston. Can't recommend enough

Absolutely beautiful cottage in the perfect location, a 3 min walk into the town so you don't get any noise. The views are worth the price alone! Lovely decor and huge rooms. Definitely has the traditional cottage feel thanks to the wood burning stove and stone floors. Would absolutely go again, already actually planning a revisit to this place!

Miner's Cottage is a lovely retreat with great views over the lake and village of Coniston. We stayed with our two year old daughter and the house was fine for us as a small family. The cottage was much bigger inside than we expected and was really well equipped as well as being very clean.

Wonderful long weekend in Coniston. Cottage is an ideal base for walks in the hills and around the lakes and close to local pubs and shops. Great stay!

We really enjoyed our stay in this lovely cosy cottage. It was rather warm, clean and quiet in the house. The location of the cottage was perfect, it is situated at the hill so you can enjoy a marvellous view over the town and lake. Tourist spots and shops are within easy walking distance and there are several hiking routes not far from the town to get rid of weight you gained after eating delicious food in the pubs and restaurants nearby. So inspite of cold winter weather, our stay was unforgettable.

Lovely stay in a fabulous cottage. Views are fantastic and a great base for walking. Weather was great which helped! All the facilities you would want at the cottage. Highly recommend Steam Bistro, but need to book early. Ship Inn convenient along the old railway line. Along with the walking, also enjoyed trips to Muncaster Castle (great bird of prey show) and the Ravenglass to Eskdale miniature railway.

A fantastic week, lovely cottage in a beautiful location. Rode the bike tracks in Grizedale twice, walked up Old Man, biked at Whinlatter Forrest, kayaked on Windermere, walked to Tarn How and did a lovely walk from Hawkshead. Amazing weather, stunning scenery and loads of activity for 2 energetic boys. Played lots of pool upstairs at The Sun and had a delicious Sunday roast there. Wonderful :)

Beautiful cottage, all the home comforts, situated at one of the highest points above lovely Coniston. Fantastic scenery and great places to eat and drink within 5 to 10 minutes walk. The owner has left an advisory guide and I recommend you read the guest books, these will only make a great holiday even better. There are no bad places to eat in town - all are good! The little garden terrace is an excellent place to relax, read, view the spectacular scenery and enjoy a glass of wine. I would revisit again at the drop of a hat. Excellent!

Thank you for the fantastic week we spent in your cottage at the beginning of November. We have been a few times now, and each time we can hardly believe what a perfect spot it is to enjoy our favourite corner of The Lakes. We had numerous wet and muddy walks in stunning autumn scenery, and a week of cosy nights in, relaxing in the warmth and peace of Miners Cottage.

Lakes Cottage Holidays: November 2018
Miners Cottage is a gem! It has been carefully and thoughtfully refurbished to a high standard and comprehensively equipped. It’s location above but near to the facilities in Coniston is ideal and the view from the front windows is breathtaking and ever changing. Altogether a holiday to remember.

Fantastic cottage with all the amenities to make for a relaxing and enjoyable stay. Coniston was, as usual, a great place to visit with the lakeland hills on the doorstep and a variety of excellent pubs. Our favourite was the Black Bull and the coniston bluebird beer, together with great food and a proper pub atmosphere. Look forward to visiting again and most certainly say in the Miner's Cottage.

What a super little cottage - beautifully renovated and with every comfort. With fantastic views over Coniston and several routes to the Old Man on the doorstep, this is a perfect location for walkers. And what's better than to come home to a log fire at the end of the day. We've been twice and have a 3rd booking in the diary. Definitely a little gem. Don't think twice about booking if you're looking for you holiday base in Coniston.

We stayed for a week at the beginning of March during the heavy snowfall. It is a stunning cottage with every amenity you might need and the views are breathtaking. Mandy was such help and so accommodating! The local pubs (The Ship) and restaurants were great and we didn’t really need to venture out of Coniston to eat! The location is perfect for hiking and we will definitely visit again! Thanks for an amazing stay :)

We had the most fantastic stay at Miners Cottage. It was warm, immaculately clean and tidy, with a massive kitchen and stunning views. It snowed while we were there, and temperatures went down to -3 degrees - we were more than warm enough and were amazed at how well the house was insulated! It really felt like home, and was a great space to come back to after a long walk. Cannot recommend highly enough!
